Powder Hollow Cemetery was copied from the Charles R. Hale Collection as found in the Connecticut State Library.
There is an old tomb in the side of a mound on the right side of the road leading south at the Post Office. It is about 1/4 of a mile from the main road. It was constructed in 1831 for the family of Dr. David Allen, a Revolutionary War Veteran. There are no bodies there now - They have been removed to the new cemetery. See Flander's work - New Hazardville - Page 8. There was formerly an iron door on the front with inscriptions on it.
